One of our focus projects is the local production and distribution of free school uniforms for primary school pupils throughout Ghana. Since our foundation in 2021, we have now distributed 1,238 uniforms in 5 regions and at 8 schools across the country. Uniforms are compulsory in Ghana, but a financial hurdle for many families. The distribution of free school uniforms has a positive effect on children's participation in school and helps to combat unequal educational opportunities for children.

For just €8.50, we can have a uniform produced locally in Ghana and give it to a child.

We carry out health screenings in cooperation with local doctors and nurses. 

Children are tested for common diseases such as malaria, hepatitis B and diabetes so that they can be treated if they fall ill. These action days promote children's health and provide an opportunity to educate parents about diseases.

For just € 6.50, we can offer a child a health screening. In the future, we also plan to focus on children's eye health.

The NHIS (National Health Insurance Service in Ghana) offers comprehensive health insurance for citizens of the Republic of Ghana. Despite the service being in place since 2003, many children are not registered and therefore do not have health insurance. There are various reasons for this: parents often do not know what health insurance actually is or how to register in the first place. For some families, even the relatively low registration fee is a hurdle. For this reason, we organize events where up to 300 children can register per day.

For just € 1.73, we can provide a child with health insurance for a year at our events and educate them about the importance of insurance.

Our latest project is the construction of drinking water wells at schools, mainly in the dry north of Ghana. Thanks to donations and funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, we were able to successfully repair a drinking water well in October 2023 and install three new wells at schools in February 2024.

Families in the north of Ghana often walk more than 40 minutes to the nearest drinking water point. In order to have enough water for daily use, children often have to be involved in this work and therefore miss out on valuable learning time at school.
